blah blah blah...
salutations all!
so last weekend i attended Acen in Chicago. and it was a Blast!!! i hung out with some good friends and some good strangers, but especially some good drinks. :p as a testament to those good drinks, here are a couple of quotes form a very drunk dan.
"people who don't believe in you are the dicks or you."
"i have never thrown up from puking."
are costumes came out really well too. Bekki and i dressed as Doki and Nabi and we were a pretty big hit at the the con. lots of people wanted to take our picture and complemented us on how cute our costumes were. it was pretty awesome, people who knew what are costumes were from were pretty exited to see us. and the people who had no clue what we were from looked at us like we were crazy. Doki and Nabi if you recall are the bunny and cat characters from those "there she is" Korean music videos i posed some time ago.
there were some other neat cosplays we ran into as well. perhaps my favorite was the girl dressed as Romona flowers from the Scott Pilgrim comics.
oh, anther interesting thing that happened, is that on of the other hotels caught on fire! no one was hurt, but there was a lot of smoke damage. and it wasn't caused by con-goers, so i don't think anyone will not let us come back next year.
as fun as Acen was, i am now completely broke. :(
in a totally unrelated subject, the new eve expansion was delayed. but only until next Wednesday, so that's not so bad. I'm sure you don't care, but i do. so that means you have to hear about it. :p
in other news you probably don't care about, the final episode of lost is airing on Sunday. I'm kind of feeling bitter sweet about it. on the one hand i am glad it is finally coming to a close and hopefully everything will be wrapped up well. on the other hand i know it is not how the writers originally planned on ending the series. i see the series almost like an investment, i invested a great deal of time and money into it and i expect to see that investment pay off in the form of a truly epic series finale! anything less will be extremely disappointing.
