The use of feeding stations to attract Gombe chimpanzees is, in particular, now known to have altered normal foraging and feeding patterns as well as social relationships. Higher levels of aggression and conflict with other Chimpanzee groups in the area are also now thought to have been consequences of the feeding, in effect creating a (wo)man made "Chimp War". Goodall's observations are thus regarded as a distortion of normal chimpanzee behaviour by most modern experts.
