Ok everyone. I am going to catch you up on what has been going on with me.
I went to the Arkansas Rehabilitation Association Conference in Hot Springs last week. I stayed at the Arlington Hotel since that is where the conference was being held at. I had a good time at the conference and saw some people I haven't seen since I graduated from graduate school. I also got some training hours for my certification so that is good as well.
Ben was going to come down on Wednesday night to hang out with me because of two things: it was our 3 year anniversary and it was the final of American Idol. I found out that my hotel did not have fox and he had to work late so what did I do??? I got in the car and drove 1.5 hours back home and spend our anniversary at home with Ben. He surprised me with flowers and candy and a card when I got home since I had to drive all that way. We had a nice anniversary and congrats to Taylor for winning. I thought the finale was one of the best yet and I loved it when Clay came out singing and surprised the other guy who was doing his awful impression of Clay. :)
I drove back to the hotel that night and had classes all day Thursday. Ben came down Thursday night and we stayed at the hotel together. Friday morning we went to see his mom at the nursing home and then came back home to clean house before Crystal got here. Ben's mom is hanging in there but is still really not doing well. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers still.
I cleaned the inside and Ben did some yard work. Crystal got here about 5:30 pm. We had Mean Pig BBQ for dinner since we all love the place. It will be one of the few things I miss about my city I live in when I do move away. We had a good time catching up.
Crystal and I spent most of Friday night, saturday, and sunday at Riverfest in Little Rock. We saw several bands which included: Train, Switchfoot, Live, and Lifehouse. Out of all the concerts I think Live and Train had the best concerts. I think LIfehouse was the one I enjoyed the least and I love there music. They sounded the least like their records live. It's like they changed songs on stage to try to make them better but I didn't like the changes. The lead singer is also very shy on stage. He is hot though. ;) The lead singer for Live did most of the show shirtless because it was so hot. All these concerts were outside on stages built just for Riverfest. I think the lead singer for Switchfoot may have got a sunburn! He said it was the hottest mess of fun he had done in a long time. The crowd went wild. We watched the firework display on Sunday night. It was really pretty watching them go off over the Arkansas River. It was a good Riverfest.
Crystal and I also had some mexican food and chinese while she was here. We had some fair food but everything was so expensive at Riverfest we mostly ate at home. Crystal and I also watched the Will and Grace finale while she was here. I liked how it ended and will miss the show.
Monday I had to go to my grandma's house for lunch and to get my brother back to UALR to start summer school. He had been at home at our parents house the last few weeks on break. We had a good lunch with my grandma and then I moved my brother back into his dorm. Ben came down and we went to the movies. We saw Over The Hedge. It is cute and we really enjoyed it.
Yesterday I went back to work but had to travel to Texarkana to see a client. I got off work early and came home. Ben is on vacation this week so we dug a water garden for the back yard last night. I think it is really going to turn out pretty. He will put the finishing touches on it today while I am at work.
TV is slow right now. Nothing really premieres until July that I am really excited about watching. It gives me a chance to clean out my DVR saved shows I guess. ;) I can't wait for Big Brother All Stars and Project Runway! :)
Well I gotta get ready for work and head on down to Little Rock. I am going in late today because my co-worker needed off early today. So instead of opening the building like I usually do, I will close today.
until then,
Rob :)
