AC...and stuff
Well I just put in for a vacation day for the Thursday of AC. If it gets approved, I will be there from Thurs. Afternoon to Sunday Night. Anybody scared yet?! MWAHAHAHHAHA!
Anyways, sitting here at work, nothing going on...getting paid Double Time and a Half because of Memorial Day...so thats a plus.
Just re-certified for another 3 years of EMT. What was I thinking? LOL
(like Doctors we need to re-certify every few years... by attending classes. To re-cert we (state Techs) need 24 CORE Credits (CEU'S) and 24 Elective Credits.
CORE Credits are obtained by taking the CORE 13 Class which is 24 Hours of Class time as a refresher for EMT Academy. The Elective Credits are by attending any class or classes we like... here are some examples of Elective Classes that I have taken in my career and their credit Value:
Haz-Mat Awareness: 4
ICS-100 (Incident Command System- Module 1):4
Haz-Mat Operations: 16
ICS-200: 24
Water (Rivers & Floods) Rescue: 8
PHTLS-A (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support-Advanced): 18
MVE-B (Motor Vehicle Extrication-Basic): 16
Response to Terrorism & Weapons of Mass Destruction: 16
Downed Firefighter Rescue: 4
PHBM (Pre-Hospital Burn Management): 4
and many others...
and Tactical Medic is gonna be 40 Credits!! WOO! (that'll suffice for my next re-cert tally.. LOL).
