sigh...ok, ok. I'll give in and do my first and LAST meme, as I think this one could actually lead to people trying new music instead of just being one of those "generate the name of a person you'll hae sex with while wearing pirate clothes" type things. I just made that up, so don't worry, I don't think they're gotten that stupid....yet. So here are 5 songs I've listened to a lot lately and really liked:
"Leaving Omaha" + "Lovers Need Lawyers" - The Good Life
"Forever for Her (Is Over for Me)" - The White Stripes
"Trouble with Dreams" - Eels
"Butcher the Song" - Cursive
"Talk" - Coldplay
Anyone who wants to list some songs, feel free to, but I refuse to list names and pressure others to do this. Guess that makes me a party pooper too.
In other matters, as Laura said, we'll be heading home this Friday (probably late) and will be around for the beginning of next week until Laura takes off for Germany Wednesday. I'll be returning to Harrisonburg Wednesday night or Thursday morning so that I can get to work. Unfortunately, it takes twice as long to get to Big Meadows inside Shen. NP coming from NoVA as it does from Harrisonburg, so that rules out working from there. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone back home - it's been a really long time it seems.
Work is still frustrating me, as we can't seem to get the databases to synchronize through the FTP site and keep getting this absurdly annoying error that can literally mean about 15 different things are wrong. Microsoft needs to get on the ball with their error scripting, although it is an admittedly difficult task. Today might be my first day with a polished database set for the rangers though, which is the start of the feedback process...thank goodness.
Laura and I checked out the Staunton farmer's market this past weekend. It's pretty sad, I don't know how to properly pronounce the name of the city, so I'm going to keep saying it differently each time until I finally get it right. The market was amazing though. It's about twice the size of the Harrisonburg one and has so much good food! We picked up some "hiker's friend" essential oil to mix into a natural bug-spray...let's hope it works. I think it's made of chamomile or something of the sort, which is supposed to make you smell nasty to bugs. Lavender is supposed to have a similar effect. Looking forward to camping soon so that we can try it out.
