Supernatural For A 6th Season????
The CW announced back in february they renewed Supernatural, making it the 6th year it will be on the air.
Originally, Eric Kripke only had a 5-year story arc in his head when he came to The CW with his idea, but between Kripke and McG’s production companies and the good writing he’s created so far, it’s amazing what they have done.
Considering that they almost weren’t renewed, but came back with budgetary restraints… Kripke was forced to create a more character driven series this year. The smaller budget meant more close up shots, more implied special effects, less of the classic rock than we might have heard in previous seasons, fewer people in scenes. But have you noticed that this year? I have forgotten completely about it because I get pulled into the story.
Getting a 6th season opens up a whole new can of worms. What will Kripke do for a 6th season? Will he carry the Apocalypse story line into the next season?. It’s been his intention all along to wrap up the 5th year with this story-arc. But after dealing with the devil, what do the brothers have to deal with?
We’re learning an awful lot about Sam and Dean from this season. Much of their past and their family tree has been delivered to us, actually letting us know how important these two brothers are to humanity itself!
I don’t think anything they’ll come up will suck, that’s for sure. They’ve done well with the stand-alone, off story-arc episodes this season so far. In fact, they’ve been hilarious and serious, all at once.
So now that we get a 6th season, will Castiel get his wings back? Will he stay on in the show. He’s an awesome, stoic faced side-kick… you get what I mean!
