The room mate hunt, part 3
Prospective room mate #2 just left. I didn't get the same immediate "friendly!" vibe as I got from #1, but I showed her around, answered her questions... and felt inferior. I told her that the first woman hadn't made up her mind yet, and would let me know by Tuesday. "Well," woman #2 said, "If I said I wanted it sooner, would I get it?"
"No, the other woman has first dibs."
Woman #2 seemed offended by that. Yes, I know that often first money on the table wins the prize, but this other girl also phoned a day earlier and is quite young; she's going to talk it over with her parents. I know how hard it is to move when you're that young, and I"m not going to wait for her to finally call back just to tell her, "Sorry, you were too slow."
Anyways, now the wait begins.
