The room mate hunt
I put an ad in the paper looking for a room mate.
I got my first phone call today; a young sounding girl/woman whose first question was, "Is it okay if it's only for three months?"
Bonus point number one, since I was hoping for short term room mates. I don't get along with room mates overly well (Steve Mason being a notable exception) so I'm wary of having people move in long term.
We worked out that yes, it's on the bus route, yes, it's an old creaky building, but it's huge(ish) and all freshly cleaned and painted.
She said she'd come see it Saturday afternoon.
Two minutes later she phoned back, "Is it furnished?" Um, no. "I have a futon pad if you need a mattress," I said, "But no, I haven't got any furniture for it."
She sounded disappointed. She didn't say that she won't check it out, though, so fingers crossed people!
