Catch up Entry

Lots to write about. Although I feel like livejournal is kind of dying and I am a bit too lazy to write as often as I used to. Let's see how much energy/patience I have today..

I graduated from nursing school at the end of January, studied for the nursing boards like a mofo, took the boards on March 12th, and found out I passed the next day. The test itself was probably one of the worst experiences of my life. All the studying I had done didn't seem to even matter. The questions were ridiculously hard and my test shut off at 180 somethin questions. A classmate of mine said she cried during the test, during the 10 minute bathroom break, and after the test as well. I held it together ok during the test, but then went home and cried and drank with classmates from 2pm to 6pm and was hungover by 9pm. The next day I checked the ohio license website about every minute from the moment I woke up to see if I had passed. It wasn't until 2pm or so that I found out that I did. I was alone at my parents house and celebrated by jumping up and down and screaming. It was glorious.

Then that saturday was the big move to Massachusetts. It was an 11 hour drive and we did it all in one shot. (stopping for meals of course) So yeh... it's been like 5 days now. We're staying in an Extended Stay hotel paid for by Tim's company in Westborough. We put in an application for an apartment in Framingham. It's about a 25 minute drive to Boston.

I'm kind of hoping I find a hospital outside of Boston to work for. I've made one trip into Boston, but it scared the shit out of me. The highways are crazy right when you get into the city and most of them have no overhead lights, which terrifies me at night. I'm hoping for a job in Worcester or Framingham. I dunno.. or maybe I should force myself to work in the city. Bleh there's $6 in toll charges each trip though.

On Sunday we drove to Providence Rhode Island, which is only a 45 min drive, so that Tim could show me where he spent the last 7 weeks training. He took me to a place called J's Deli that he raved about. It was in a Shell station hah, but was quite tastey. It is a local favorite.

There seem to be more Dunkin' Donuts here in Mass than McDonalds. It's very bizarre. I've even seen two Dunkin Donuts like directly across the street from each other. I of course had to have some because there aren't any that seem to be nearby UA. It was deliciouuus.

Hmm... what else have i done..? Tim and I explored the Framingham library. It was pretty nice and they have a big DVD collection, but they cost $1 each for 7 days. I think I've been spoiled with the Upper Arlington Library.

So yesh. Anyone is welcome to come visit me. I have to warn you though that I don't actually like live IN Boston. I'm like a 25 minute (or more depending on traffic) drive from Boston. Framingham is cute though. I haven't really explored it much yet, but there seem to be neat looking old colonial buildings around and lots of small lakes and resevoirs nearby. I bet it'd be pretty in the spring and summer. I'm excited to check out Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Salem. Salem is known to be super fun during Halloween. They go all out with the Witch Trials and stuff. Check out Skybus for plane tickets. If you buy em far enough in advance, it's pretty damn cheap. The "Boston" airport is actually in New Hampshire and would be like an hour drive from where I live, but I'd be willing to pick anybody up from that airport.

Gaah i need a freaking job. I'm getting really bored in this hotel room.
