Sailing today was pretty amazing. Unlike the other days when the wind was either non existent or mediocre, today's wind was pretty strong.
As soon as Adam and we got out of the harbor, the widn picked up and we wre just speeding along, against the waves, hitting them head on. Naturally i got soaked handling the jibes, but omfg it was great. Half the time Adam and i were leaning far out to keep our boat stable and our backs were right above the water.
after about 10 minutes or so we saw the one mile buoy. Damn, never been this far before. Two UC Santa Cruz boats were nearby. Adam and I charged up to the buoy, and attempted to go around it and head back. IT was a success, but scary. The waters out at the 1 mile mark were just unbeleivbly choppy and the swells kinda too big for comfort, lol. The turn was successful, and we started sailing back. HOwever, this time we were riding the waves, and that made the boat tip left and right like no other. Eventually we lost controal, and about 1/4 miles of travel, we capsized
NEED I MENTION HOW COLD THE WATER IS?
I was seriously freaked out. Climbing back intot he boat was like impossible without adam's help. sailing back, all i coudl thin about was a warm shower.
After taking down the sails and masts and wshing out the boat, we were FINALLY on our way back. w00t. I had wanted to be back by 7 to go ice skating with 4th floor casa, but i didn't make it in time. Oh well
I had a blast.
