Back again
Well at least it hasn't been a year since my last entry. Although it seems like it has been. So much has gone on....well guess I will start there.
Got thru Dads funeral and stayed on in our old house to clean it up, repair it, and get it ready for sale. Was very strange being there alone, without Mom or Dad. Spent the next 6 months December to June working on that and looking for a job. Flew down to Fort Lauderdale in May for an interview with Eaton. It was a company a friend of mine that retired from the navy hooked me up with. Lucked out and got hired on and started the 1st of June in Atlanta for training. I finished up the house the day before I hit the road to Atlanta and put it on the market. Stayed in Atlanta for 2 weeks then went to Raleigh NC for training for about 3 weeks. 2 1/2 more weeks in Atlanta. Then 3 Weeks more in Raleigh. Then finally got to head down to Fort Lauderdale Florida where the job actually is. I got here about the 9th of August. Got very lucky because I had a friend that I met thru Onyx that lived here that had a condo to rent that he had just renovated. Moved what little bit of stuff I have left in and now I am hanging out in a decent sized 2 bedroom condo in Davie Florida, right beside Ft. Lauderdale all by myself.
Hmmm what else to report. My kids are doing well. Josh is talking to me again on and off. Don't really expect that to change anytime soon. He will graduate finally in October. Then he is trying to get into an online college starting after the first of the year. I would like to see him get out on his own but he isn't ready to leave the nest yet. My daughter Jamie and her mom finally had a huge blow out and Jamie moved out. I tried to get her to move in with me but she wanted to stay in Charlotte NC to be with the boyfriend. She is 18 and I really can't do anything about that. She does seem to be doing well. The boy is decent. He just graduated college and has a job as an accountant, a decent car and a nice apartment. I hope that works out for her. All I can do is tell her she is welcome here if she wants to come down. Nothing else really going on. Its just me hanging out in a new place, a new job, not really knowing anyone yet again. Seems like I have done this so many times before. I am almost afraid to go buy anything to put into the condo. Who knows how long this will last. Onyx and I are in limbo. She is stuck in Alabama for a while at least to maintain residency for her daughter to go to college at Auburn. So here I am yet again. At least its not a hotel anymore.....
