What a day!

We went to the Allegheny Cemetery - always one of my favorite places to go to with a camera.
There were well over a thousand crows there, at least one in every tree.. it was awesome.
I took over 100 photos, but I'm not going to post them all. I'll just post what's interesting.

Firstly, this is me today... in some comfy clothes, all ready to go. Photo is compliments of my husband :)

It sure was a lovely day at the cemetery! The pond is frozen over a bit.

I just think thisis so pretty!

The angle of the angel... I love that decrepid hand.

This Great Blue Heron really took us by surprise.

Then he flew away!

Somebody made a home for this stray/feral cemetery cat. I tried to get close, but it ran off when I got near and was NOT happy with me being by it's little house. Poor cat!

This has alwasy been one of my favorite sites in the cemetery.

Then there were the deer. There were a lot of them too!

The face of an angel.

But her face is fading.

I loved this Celtic Cross - it read "Until the Day break and the shadows flee away"

There were more deer so I walked up towards them. This buck wasn't thrilled to see me.

But this Doe was, she stood in front of the sun and I love this photo.

When I walked back to the car I was surprised to see this girl following me. It was so cute.

Crows flying off into the sunset to roost.

Sun setting at the Allegheny Cemetery...
But wait...
There's something else.
As soon as I took that photo, I was charged by a loose white dog who ran past me into the cemetery. We made an attempt to catch it and failed. As we were getting ready to leave we noticed she was on Butler street. Well, we couldn't just stand idly by could we?
So we caught her.

I thought she looked like a white Husky, female, about 3. She had a tag, but no numbers - just a microchip tag.
We called and it turned out she was microchipped to the Humane Society. We ran like Hell to get her there before they closed.
Turns out she is a  3 year old white Siberian Husky and a serious runner. She was taken to the HS because she runs and she was adopted out twice and returned by adopters twice because people simply couldn't handle her. (Seriously??) So this was her 3rd adoption through the Humane Society and it seems that her new family has only had her 10 days and she got loose on these people too. I was disappointed to hear it. They called her owners to come get her though. I hope maybe her getting loose this time taught them a lesson and they won't let it happen again. She was a nice dog and by taking her down there we probably saved her from being hit by a truck on Butler street, or god knows something worse!!
I was happy to be able to help this girl.

So in conclusion a telescopic zoom lens is no longer an option, I have to have one. The photos I took today were without any zoom. I'll probably have to wait until tax season. Lenses are pricey.
