Since seeing Inception, I have watched a bit of Tom Hardy's discography. I have seen him in the following roles:

1) Clarkie (Layer Cake - 2004) a morally bankrupt chemist and drug runner
2) Stuart (Stuart: A Life Backwards - 2007) a violent and psychotic alcoholic junkie
3) Charlie Bronson (Bronson - 2009) an extremely violent and psychopathic inmate
4) Heathcliff (Wuthering Heights - 2009) yeah, if you don't know this story...see the last two character descriptions
5) Freddie (The Take - 2009) a boozing, womanizing, violent (and potentially psychotic?) mob boss

I think the only film (other than Stuart) where I really empathized with and felt for one of his characters is Rock'n'Rolla, where Handsome Bob is a crook, yes, but he's neither excessively violent or psychopathic. And actually from his interactions with One Two and Mumbles, I think he ended up as a crook by default, because that's what his friends were doing and he just sort of followed along.

TL;DR, I want a movie where Tom Hardy isn't a violent psychopath. And it looks like I'm going to have to wait for a rom-com to get it. *shudder*
