Realizing Your Strengths and Faults

They say that the first step toward recovery is recognizing your faults and weaknesses, and accepting them. Copy and paste this list of statements into your livejournal, and bold each sentence that is something you find yourself thinking, feeling or doing sometimes--even if it’s something you don’t want to admit. Be honest, because the only person you lie to is yourself.

1. I can be very opinionated.
2. I don’t always recognize my limits.
3. I feel like I have to please everyone to keep friends.
4. I feel like I’m not good enough when I fail.
5. I think I’m fat.
6. I think other people think and say mean things about me behind my back.
7. I need other people’s approval to feel useful.
8. I don’t feel like I need anyone.
9. I feel lonely without others around.
10. I think I’m ugly.
11. I have low or no self-esteem.
12. I have trouble taking compliments on the things I do.
13. I set out looking for compliments on the things I do.
14. I’m afraid of being alone forever.
15. I’m afraid of being alone at all.
16. I have trouble finding positive things to say about myself.
17. I think I’m stupid.
18. I feel I have to succeed in everything; failure is not an option.
19. I feel that I have to be better than others at some or most things, even if it’s trivial.
20. Any grade below an A/90% makes me angry or sad.
21. Any grade below a 100% makes me angry or sad.
22. I’m afraid of rejection.
23. I sometimes act as a ‘lackey’ to others to fit in or feel needed.
24. I have a deep-seated distrust for some kinds of people.
25. I hold people at arm-length, so they can’t hurt me, even if they’re close to me.
26. I make snap-decisions about others before I know them, based on how they talk, look, act or who they hang out with.
27. I have trouble “practicing what I preach”.
28. I feel like nothing I do is right.
29. I get angry when others tell me I’m wrong.
30. I don’t like the person I am.
