Great story! I'm laughin' my ass off over here! Where do you get all these great ideas from? I think I need my muse to talk to yours cause mine is ignoring me. Next please!

Well, start with being depressed and then mix in a relatively unhealthy obsession with fictional character. Toss in a bit of a daily commute in Southern California and, Voila, instant Muse. (Also helps to have a 4-year old that is solidly entrenched in imaginative play 18 hours a day!) I'm glad I could make you laugh!

Depressed-check; obession w/fictional character-check. Seattle traffic is just as bad, can't do anything about the 4-year old, but I do have teenagers! I'm sure I'll get it together some how! :-)

Yeah, Jayne...your Plan As are almost as bad as Mal's can be, and that's saying something!

;P

Utter spectacular work, especially the misdirection via Jayne's POV when buying the engagement ring - love the ruby, BTW, since it's Summer and my own birth stone (July = ruby) - but his confrontation with River in the galley was just comedic romance gold :D
