Prayer of St. Francis

ok, not sure how it happened, but evidently at least part of my post from a few weeks ago got saved...wish it had been more...but here's what's there anyway...i'll elaborate in the next one

Prayer of St. Francis

Lord make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
And where there is sadness, joy.

O divine master grant that I may
not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love
For it is in giving that we receive-
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
And it's in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.

truthfully, things are ok. things aren't great, but they are rolling along well enough compared to the drama others are dealing with these days. i have a job, a roof over my head, good friends, my loved ones are healthy, and i have the basic necessities of a comfortable existence. could i be doing better? of course, but i'm trying very, very (did i mention very?) hard to focus on that i'm blessed with rather than what is lacking.

it's been a pretty bad day. my blood pressure is probably no
