Quick Travel Update

I just wanted to do a quick update, since I haven't done on in awhile.  My travel plans are go!  I'll be going on Contiki's European Impressions tour August 7th - August 27th.  I'm very excited to see all the landmarks, eat all the food, and meet new people, but I'm also happy to see that there are many lolita stores all over Europe!  There's one in almost every country I'll be visiting and, since the countries are much smaller than the USA, it's plausible to be able to visit most of them in my free time!  This means I'll need to be even more frugal and save as much money as possible.  Of course, with Zenkaikon coming up, meaning Frilladelphia's fashion show, it's looking like I'll have to splurge a little.  Still, with the budget I came up with, affording some accessories and possibly a wig shouldn't be too hard.

I wonder how my tour mates will take my fashion escapades.  Maybe I can get one or two of them interested enough to come to a store with me.  I also considered how I'm going to pack petticoats.  They are light, but getting them to fit in a suitcase and not take up much space could prove to be a challenge.  I may go the route the company went with shipping them to me: put them in a shopping bag, squish it as tight as possible, and use packing tape to secure it.  Believe it or not, this method doesn't deflate them since it doesn't technically flatten the tulle.

More important things to consider are my passport, either unlocking my phone or getting a cheap unlocked phone, getting a skype account, and making sure my flights are in order (they're booked, but I mean online check in and such).  Oh, I also have to apply for a leave from work, since I'm going to be gone for almost a month.  I can't come back and go to work the very next day or anything.  I wish contiki sent out a detailed itinerary sooner!  I'd like to know what hotels I'm staying at and exactly when my free time is so I can plan my little side trips.  All I know is that my first hotel, in London, is the Royal National, so I can plan my free time there.  I'll be arriving at 8:45am and won't be able to check in until 2pm.  I can have my bag held and explore a bit until then.  There are so many place to go in each city, let alone country!

Aside from that, Christmas was great, I can't wait for my tax return, my birthday's coming up, but I'm really just hoping for money toward my trip, and all is well with my life.  2012 is going to be a great year.
