Lolita Meme and Wig Possibilities

1. Best lolita fashion advice you've ever received?
Longer bloomers can make a dress that is a bit short look much better.  Plus, it looks more modest.

2. Style icons?
Even though I would never want to dress like her, I've always admired faunkegin , even before I really got into Lolita.  I friended her on facebook and she seems to be a really lovely girl without trying to, and she admits she never wants to be lifestyle.  As far as style, of course I love Innocent World, and even though it may be embarrassing, the clothes look amazing on "model-san".  Why would this be embarrassing?  Well, egl  has a love/hate relationship with this girl.  She always looks kind of derpy, but she's just so cute!  Here's a link to explain most lolitas' feelings toward her: egl.livejournal.com/16886685.html

3. Describe your personal style.
Lolita: Classic, sometimes a mix of sweet/classic
Everyday: When I'm not at work, I'm usually wearing lolita, but other than that it's either jeans and t-shirt on a lazy day, or girly lacy stuff if I'm trying to look nice.

4. Favorite designers/brands?
Innocent World, Victorian Maiden, Juliette et Justine (and I fucking love the name reference to the Marquis de Sade!), Mary Magdalene - even though these are my favorites, I've managed to find stuff from almost every single brand to put on my wish list.

5. Most cherished items?
I cherish every piece in my wardrobe, I can't really decide what I like best...  but I get an insane amount of compliments on my Dear Celine petticoat, actually.  I cherish the fact that I managed to find something so amazingly poofy and durable for a decent price.

6. Most used item?
The petticoat I just mentioned

7. I feel best wearing?
Unshirred brand.  The shirred stuff would be nice if I were bigger, but I honestly feel the elastic makes it more uncomfortable.

8. The first thing I look for in another lolita's outfit...
Proper color coordination.  I hate when girls wear something like a light JSK, a white blouse, and light accessories, then black shoes.  Not only is it uncreative, but it clashes really badly, and it happens really often.  Also, I like to see a nice headdress and nice socks.  You could have the cutest JSK/OP, but boring coordinates will drain the cute factor.

9. Lolita Fashion rule you never break?
I try to follow the rules as well as I can.  No bare thighs, nothing sleeveless without a blouse/cardigan/capelette, never be seen without a headdress of some sort, and always wear bloomers and a petticoat.  That being said, as I explore my own style a it more, I may get to breaking more rules.

10. Never caught wearing?
OTT Sweet, which is why it's ironic I like faunkegin so much.  She does a (very) few classic and simple sweet styles, though.

11. Dress to impress who?
Myself

12. Your next "must have" purchase?
A black blouse, white and black bloomers, black and/or black and white shoes, more cream socks (since my only pair is getting worn way too often), and more of my dream dresses.

13. Favorite type of head accessory?
Headbands, and Innocent World makes the best quality ones I've ever seen (I was actually just comparing quality last night).  Most of mine have small to medium ribbon bows on them.

14. Favorite cut of clothing (shirring, high waist, princess seams etc)?
Unshirred, low waist, A-line looks best on me, although many of my dresses have the cupcake shape.

15. Current obsession?
Going through Hello Lace and making a full list of every brand item I'd like to own.

16. Best lolita fashion advice you can give to anyone:
You don't have to be an ita - do your research and watch the comms (yes, including /cgl/) for awhile to learn what to do and what not to do, then save money to get proper coordinates (because even taobao and Bodyline can get expensive).  You don't have to conform to every single thing others do, but this is not a style to jump into with no research and a bad case of special snowflake syndrome.

Also, I'm thinking of getting one or two "shorter" wigs for Otakon.  By short, I mean not down to my lower back.  I found some I like for a decent price (Gothic Lolita Wigs USA), and they are heat resistant so I can style them however I want.  I already have a wig from there and I know they are amazing quality, but part of my wonders if I should just not bother and use my natural hair.  Here are the pictures, so let me know what you think!
