Classes

I signed up for spring semester classes today.  Yes, me, the person who was never going back to school.  Sitting in an office for 40 hours a weeks while getting extremely underpaid and knowing that there are people out there that get paid double the amount to do less work will do that to you.  Besides, going to school part time doesn't seem so bad after being locked in an asylum for so long.  Anyway, right now I'm just taking two classes that I previously failed due to lack of attendance.

English Comp II (Friday 1:30p - 4:45p)
Basic Nutrition (Monday 6:00p - 9:00p)

That seems like a fairly easy task.  I'll be going down to 32 hours a week at work, and I've decided the day to lose will be Tuesday due to the lower workload and the fact that I'll be getting home late on Monday nights.  Therefore, I'll have Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday off of work and get school work done immediately after classes and, therefore, have no excuse to slack.

It all sounds perfect until I said to myself "Fuck, I'm going to have to miss a class for Katsucon!"  I will let the professor know as soon as possible and hopefully be able to get assignments early, since I already have the room booked and, unlike the people who've screwed me over in the past for situations like this, I can't rightly screw myself over.  It sucks how that works, doesn't it?

In all, it's going to cost me exactly $702 not counting books, which seems pretty fair.  The sad part is that I'm waiting a few days to pay just so I don't have to see it on this month's credit card bill.  The books are expensive, but I have the first edition of one (they're offering the second edition on the website), so I'm going to ask the professor if I can still use it.  Hopefully I can, since it would save me about $150.  The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that it has a online registration code with it and I'm not sure if mine will still work since I already used it long ago.

Anyway, enough of that school stuff.  After getting so much free merchandise through Monthly LaLa for it, I finally started reading the series Natsume's Book of Friends!  It turns out i really like it!  It's very different for a shojo series.  So far, in the first two volumes, there's no love interest, no social focus (like omg getting popular in high school), and no friend drama.  It's just this boy that has the power to see spirits, which he inherited from his grandmother.  He has a few friends, lives with nice people, and has a normal facade, but the spirits haunt him to no end because his grandmother was a crazy bitch and imprisoned them by putting their names into a book of which he inherited.  He's going through trying to right all her wrongs, and each short story have to do with him coping, having to use the spirits to protect himself, helping the spirits, or freeing them.  It's very interesting, not to mention the fact that Takashi Natsume himself is absolutely adorable!  Here's some more information on it:

It's also an anime, which I really should get around to watching, the seriousness of which would offset the shenanigans of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.

Lastly, I've been completely addicted to Regretsy lately.

EDIT: My dad is pissed that I'm not just taking one class and I want to take one day a week off of work.  Always so supportive father, please keep it up.
