A Delayed Update
Since I hadn't yapped about myself awhile, I figure now's a good time to do it. I've had a few interesting things happen in the past few weeks.
1) Ohayocon - It was the most fun I've had since Anime Expo. Since the only convention between the two was Zenkaikon, that's not saying much, but it really was fun. For Katsucon, I plan on possibly bringing more costumes if I fit into them, because I kind of felt like an outsider when all my friends had these awesome costumes and I had my one half finished one.
2) My birthday - I spent the day doing laundry and watching movies on demand. I got some presents from my family and almost everybody I work with posted it all over Facebook, which actually was the best part of it. Also, when I went to work on Sunday, there was "Happy Birthday Bethany" in Cricut cutouts on my desk.
3) For awhile now, I've wanted to get into ball joint dolls (awhile meaning more than a year), so I finally bought myself the cheapest Dollfie possible. I didn't get one of those $600 dollar ones that you don't even get to customize, but instead spent $90 total (base, eyes, hair, lashes, outfit, shoes, shipping) and I'll be able to customize her myself. If I'm not satisfied with this one I'll think about either getting a more expensive one or looking at another brand, but I'm hoping I can pimp her to make her look as good as the expensive ones. Alas, I do already know I'm going to need to by "make up" and the brushes for it, since I looked into it more and saw she won't have eyebrows or anything, but I want to wait until she gets here to see how much more I want to spend on her.
4) Tomorrow - OMG.... BIOSHOCK 2! Anyone that's read my journal for awhile knows that when Big Sister was first on the cover of Game Informer months ago (if not a year ago), I was gushing over it. I'm so happy it'll finally get here tomorrow! I pre-ordered the special edition from Gamestop to be sent to my house (free shipping, why not have it sent here?), so I don't even have to go pick it up!
5) Anime Club - I went tonight for the first time in ages just so they would know I was dead. It seems that everyone in the weeaboo world is finally getting into Metal Gear Awesome, which makes me sad. I watched it when it was first around and nobody knew about it. Then someone showed it to me when I'd already seen it. Then someone else did. Then someone else. Et cetera, and we're finally at hte point where I'm just sick of seeing. Not to mention that the creator made one for almost every fucking game I know and some really aren't that funny. Yeah, they decided to exploit that all over my face tonight. It seems like it's 90% freshmen this year except for me, officers, and my friend Alice. At least Alice requested to be in my car, so I'll only have a chance of getting one or two idiots. It's too bad there are some people in that club I still love, otherwise I'd peace out without thinking twice about it. And goddammit most of the freshmen are STILL obsessed with Hetalia. I liked it before it became old, stale, and fandom raped, but let's all get over it, yes?
