Bisexuality Rant

As a bisexual girl, I like to think I’ve got the best of both worlds. I am very happy with my philosophy that people love people, regardless of gender. The way I see it, some people have a “type.” You know, brown hair, nice teeth, sense of humor, love of video games… in my totally unscientific and unsupported-by-any-evidence-at-all kind-of world, a ( Read more... )

You go. :)

Two cents from a straight girl...

The way I see it, you like who you like. :)

I agree with you - the discrimination I see towards bisexuals tends to come from both sides of the "fence" - I've seen just as many gays as straights condemn bis as people who refuse to choose. There are going to be folks who are attracted to men and women equally. There are going to be some with a gender preference. Some people find themselves *mostly* attracted to one gender or the other, with occasionally digging someone on the other team. I don't get what the big deal is, and why we are so quick to categorize.

Likewise, I find the thought that "lesbians are sexy" but "gay guys are gross" equally repugnant. Yet that tends to be the prevailing school of thought.

It's a shame that people like Katy Perry (sorry, Christine!) capitalize on that thought for their own personal gain, and there are many who DO claim bisexuality just to get the attention. The girls who drunkenly make out with one another in front of guys just because they think the guys will think it's "hot." Not only is it dishonest, it gives the actual bisexuals and lesbians a bad rap.

Good for you for being you, and being you unapologetically and honestly. :)
