Oh my aching knees! I’ve actually been  having trouble sleeping because my knees are aching so!

Run
2.0 miles
Griswold High School Track

I figured out that when I hit my running stride not only do I feel amazing but my knees cease to hurt at all. The problem is that I can’t remain in that zone for long or I feel like I’m going to barf so my goal now is to extend how long I can stay in that zone each time.  Today I hit that zone in the 6th lap, right after a walk break. I stayed in the zone for 9/10’s of the lap and then walked 1/10th and then right back into the zone using that pattern for the last 3 laps. I definitely could not have done another lap but those last 3 felt good.

I think I know exactly what speed that is, too, because I remember it from my old treadmill days. My ‘zone’ run seems to be at about 6.5 on the treadmill.

Other than that, the only thing exciting in my life today was being verbally attacked by a woman at walmart because I went through the under 20 lane with a cartridge of printer ink, a watermelon and 30 folders … which if the girl had just counted 30 x .25 it would have been fine, but she went ahead scanned each one [taking all of about 30 seconds] so the lady behind me started getting all psycho about it being an under 20 lane. Tori got pissed and started to tell her off. It could’ve gotten ugly if I hadn’t been decked out in PR gear, but I have a reputation to protect so it ended quickly with me doing a “Talk to the Hand” and saying “shut. up.”

It fueled my run. 6 months and 3 days until the Disney Marathon.
