gimme yo strength...

so..I went to the Rambler Parent Meeting on Monday. It was rather boring. And Mrs. Smith looked like she was in some kinda druggie gaze. Coach Sawyer was the only one who talked. And he was pretty boring.

They went over all the stuff in the little packet and blah blah. Basic crap. So, at the end, they had the two captains, Jeff and Laura, show us the tryout dance. IT'S SO EASY! But! We HAVE to do the CLIFFHANGER in it! I'm so scared. We have the Jesse Flip in it (the first one I drew earlier). But seriously, the Cliffhanger? Whyyyy? The Cliffhanger is awesome..but when you'll have to be practicing with probably a 9th grader, it's quite scary.

See, with the Cliffhanger, you roll into the guy, lift up your left leg, he grabs it, then you lift your right one without support. Then the guy brings you up to his head, and rolls you all the way down. Almost onto the ground. And if you don't remember which leg to bend (like me!), then you fall right onto the ground. YES! I AM talented!

But luckily, i'll be trying out with a senior, so, I'm not too scared about the Cliffhanger.

So, we had to get the following filled out before April 7:
1. Application
2. Parent Release Form
3. Copy of report card
4. 5 Reccomendation forms:
English
Math
History
Science
Teacher of choice.

You can put all your money on who I gave my choice to. Mrs. Smith. Duh. Of course she's gonna give me all 5's. I'm pretty sure my math and science teachers gave me all 5's. I'm kinda scared about what my history teacher gave me. My English teacher probably gave me all 5's and a couple of 4's. So, yeah.

The only thing i'm worried about the reccomendationg forms is that some of my teachers (*cough* english teacher *end cough*) aren't the best people to trust important documents with. So, yeah.

Well, I gave my teachers the forms and told them what to do when they've filled them out.

Then, today, I turned in my application, report card, and parent form. Whoo hoo! Even coach said "The earlier, the better!" so, yeah! I've got my 20% done already!

We're getting judged on 5 different things for 20% each:
1. Teacher Reccomendations (easy!)
2. Attendance/Grades (very easy!)
3. Showmanship
4. Technique
5. Rythm and timing

We're trying out on April 23 from 8 AM to 3 PM. I'm gonna go around 8:45. First of all, to get it over with, second of all, beacuse if you go really early, or really late, you have a better chance of making it.

We have 3 workshops before tryouts.
March 15, 7-8:30 PM
March 23, 7-8:30 PM
March 31, 7-8:30 PM

I'll probably go to all three of them. Also, probably every weekend, either Kyle or Jordan will be practicing with me for like an hour for the month of April. Clint's most likely coming over again this weekend, and he's bringing a girl Rambler with him. I'll probably invite Natalie over too, and we'll go to my neighbors who have a house full of hardwood flooring. You have to do it on a slick surface, or else you won't be able to spin at all.

I'm SO super excited. I really am. When I got to the meeting, I was really nervous. There were a lot of other sophomore girls there that if we both make it, I DEFINETLY don't want them on there with me. And, there were a lot of Freshman girls too, and I can almost pick out who will and won't make it. There were only like 3 guys though. Hahaha. Jordan Bradley was there. He's such a cutie.

I'm still trying to get over the whole Cliffhanger thing, though! Wish me luck!
