For Senium... here is my best attempt for now. I just can't seem to make it any darker.

Title: Until the bitter end
Author: Ree
Theme: Minako
Genre: Angst/Dark (?)
Version: Manga/Anime
Rating: PG

These characters of course do not belong to me. I wish that they could, but, alas, I did not invent them. Takeuchi Naoko was the one gifted with their creation, and they are still hers.

Until the bitter end

Darkness and binding pain. That was the last thing that she remembered. It happened right after she and Neptune had tried to defy Galaxia. She hoped... she prayed that Michiru was not suffering this confinement as well, but deep in her heart Haruka knew that she was. A golden light suddenly pierced through the darkness that surrounded her. It wasn't the soft gold that surrounded Venus, no, it was the brilliant, cutting, light of Galaxia. She had felt it once before, when she and Neptune had willingly turned on Pluto and Saturn, when they had willingly joined Galaxia in an attempt to destroy her. That had ended as futile as her wish to be released from the ties that bound her to that golden queen.

Searing pain... hot metal being melded to her... spells of control being weaved about her. Venus tried to resist... she tried to command the gold to leave, to loosen its bonds. The metal continued to weave about the crystal that held her as a bright golden light shone through the topaz illuminating Venus' dark world. Venus stared at the shadow that stood outside the stone. It was her shadow cast by the light. It was Sailor Venus, but something was wrong. This Venus was brittle, harsher... she was nothing like the Venus that was seen in the gentle moonlight of her real princess. The metal band that had woven about her heart crystal fastened about this harder Venus. Trapped in the stone, Venus watched herself walk towards the others, each one of them made hard in the bright light of Galaxia. She could see her friends, the ones who trusted her to lead them... trusted her to help protect their most precious person, trapped the same as she, in their crystal bound by a golden bracelet to the shadow that carried them to do someone else bidding.

Venus willed her footsteps to turn... to take her back inside. The one she wanted to destroy was in there. As her shadow got closer to the other senshi, she could feel them struggling to do the same, with the same results. They kept heading for the door.

Neptune dropped her head until it smacked into the crystal wall. This was all her fault. The bindings were tighter this time, and she was sure it was because she and Uranus had shown that they could overcome the old ones. Her fingers clawed at the side of the crystal, trying to break the golden threads that tied her to this mockery of her own self. She had to break it... she just had to... before she did what ever Galaxia thought to create them for.

The door closed behind them. Venus could feel the wind striking her prison; her shadow's hair streamed behind her. It took a moment for her to understand who was standing before her, for her brain to accept who Galaxia had sent them to kill. Moon kissed hair streamed in the wind that ruffled the white fuku. Bright blue eyes, sad but filled with eternal hope, gazed at her, boring through her, deep into her heart. It was her princess, Sailor Moon. Pain coursed through her, trying to tear her apart. She could not do this, she would not let her shadow do this. Her fingers clutched about the golden ribbon that tied her heart to that bright light.

She felt Galaxia's demand for power. She knew what was about to happen. Crying, she lashed out at bonds that held her there. She had to stop this. She was the leader. She had to set the example. She had to prevented her shadow from attacking Sailor Moon. Power tried to pour out from her, rising to flood into the shadow at the command of Galaxia. Wrapping her arms about her waist, she clutched her sides as she struggled to hold her power in. She felt the bonds tighten, squeezing her crystal until she was sure it was going to crack. Still she fought, holding in her gift... the gift she swore to use in defense of her princess, of that bright, gentle light that had found her in the cauldron so long ago.

After just a few moments, she felt Mercury's and Mars' attack fly through the air. Fear stabbed through her, those two had been defeated. When she felt Jupiter's fly, she almost lost hope. But she couldn't, she knew that she could never give in.

Burning pain lashed through her as she felt the first crack form in the crystal. Trembling, she held on, refusing to break a bond that was as old as the universe.

Next came Pluto, followed quickly by Uranus. Somewhere she heard a voice calling for ChibiMoon. It had to be a mistake, she knew ChibiUsa was in the future. But a certainty snaked up through her heart that the future princess was indeed here.

Another lash whipped through her knocking her to her knees as another fracture appeared on the surface of her stone. She clutched the moonlight kissed orange ribbon tightly in her hands. Her life energy... so similar to blood, coursed down from her head, coating her cheeks. As the next crack formed, more of the energy sprung up from her shoulders, then her arms, coating her fingers, soaking the ribbon that tied her to her princess. Still, she fought for all she was worth. She could not... she would not give up. She refused to let Galaxia win.

Saturn's power washed through the area followed quickly by a light that felt so familiar, but far more powerful that she ever remembered. Even as the light faded, Neptune's attack filled air. Suddenly Pluto and Saturn attacked together. That strong light once again filled the area. Venus hoped Moon was alright.

When the metal tighten once again, a fissure ran through the center face of the vibrant orange stone. Venus gasped as she felt her grasp on consciousness slip. Her fingers relaxed against her will, her arms slid down to her sides as she tumbled over. The ribbon twined its way out of her grasp. She could see the ribbon, the one that she had held onto so long, floating above her head. Struggling, she raised her hand to grasp it. With a gasp, she let her hand fall. It was just out of reach. Cornflower blue eyes gazed up into the harsh smiling face of her shadow as her power flowed out of her. She felt her shadow's arm move in preparation for her attack. She closed her eyes, hoping to lose consciousness before the attack hit.

She didn't, but it slipped away as she was washed in the light of her princess' attack.
