It's almost 5:30 and I haven't gotten out of bed yet today.
I saw the Soiree last night at Zaphod's. I had heard about them, but had never gone to check them out. I was blown away. There was nothing about their set that I didn't like. I bought their album. Then I decided to do a review of the show.
So that's what I've been doing today. So far, I've reviewed the band that played before the Soiree, Flotilla. I am going to post it somewhere online once I've finished the Soiree's review. I need to do this more often so I can build a decent portfolio to send to music publications. I really enjoyed writing this. I've been having trouble getting started until now. Hopefully, it finishes well.
I also came home and started writing two songs. I wrote the chorus for one, which is just poppy and kind of lame, but the kind of lame I like. The other is just instrumental so far, but I think it's pretty. Again, song writing is something I've been having a lot of difficulty with since high school, so this is a very good sign.
I wrote my first and only exam yesterday. So now I am done for the semester, and I couldn't be happier. I've been making lists of things I need to get going on. I made one for today and have yet to attempt any of the items on it. But I'm okay with that because I've been doing something equally productive.
I'm so excited to go to Napanee to see my folks and big brother.
