I really need to get back to work now. But... Instead, I'm going to talk about the latest episode of Doctor Who. Because after resisting these past few years, I have finally decided to give it a chance and see if it is as good as I remember Classic Who being and it is.
For those of you wondering how I'm doing and where I've been: Good and At Home For a Change. ^-^ Life is life: I'm keeping busy with work (I'm getting further and further behind on these projects which really isn't good), I haven't been keeping up too well with exercise because of life stuff, Summer is finally here and I am so happy for the GA weather even if I can't sleep too well at night, Ride For Roswell was great (44 miles plus 3 miles from the house) even if it was on the chilly side and did rain, Ree and Flyboy brought their two padwans up to visit and we had fun running around the Niagara area, I've become a fan of the new Doctor Who especially the latest Doctor, and I can't believe the year is almost half over already! I have achieved the Bronze Achievement level for the President's Fitness Challenge, mostly because I was so good about exercise in April and early May. Zoo and Cafe Facebook games took up a lot of my free time in May and June, but the past two weeks I have been Facebook free. Haha, I need to get in and clean up my games, but I think I'm about ready to give most of them up.
And now... the real reason I came in here... To gush about the Season 5 Finale of Doctor Who. I.e., The Big Bang.
^-^
Doctor: Hi, Honey. I'm home.
River: What time do you think it is?
Such a flirtatious, sexy look, Doctor. My, my. (ETA: I so want an icon of this scene... Say a silent picture style animated one? Wonder if I can figure out how to do that this weekend...)
Dalek: Records indicate that you will show mercy. You are a Companion of the Doctor.
River: I'm River Song. Check your records again.
Dalek: Mercy.
River: Again.
Dalek: Mercy.
River: One more time...
Dalek: Mercy...
I love how the Dalek was actually shaking it was so scared. And it didn't even try to run or turn away. Hmmm...
Doctor: Are you married, River?
River: Are you asking?
Doctor: Yes.
River: Yes.
Doctor: Wait. Did you think I was asking you to marry me, or asking if you were married?
River: Yes.
Doctor: Yes? Or, yes?
River: Yes.
Heeheee... You know, I think I've become a DoctorxRiver fangirl. Especially ElevenxRiver. I can't wait for Season 6 to find out who she is. I have several thoughts as to who she killed, her marital status, and her relationship with the Silence. And it will be interesting to see if her secrets change her relationship with the Doctor as much as she thinks they will.
One thought that came to me this morning is that all of this was set up by the Valeyard (even though I've never seen any episodes with the Valeyard, so what do I know), and that the Valeyard is the Doctor who is still trapped in the Nexus. The Doctor who came back was reborn from the billions of atoms trapped in the Pandorica, just like Rory and Mr. & Mrs. Pond. That's how he "escaped" even after the cracks closed. Hmmm... Such an interesting little thought...
Hahaha, and all this talk of Silence... I keep expecting Sailor Saturn to show up. There's a spoof there! I just know it!
Ah, I loved this episode. I loved this season. I wasn't too terribly happy with how the Doctor got out of the Pandorica, but after re-watching it, I think I can follow and believe the intended logic a bit better. Especially if the Valeyard is directing things. He's still Gallifreyan enough to try and keep things that should happen happening, right? Following the laws and all? But again, I know really don't know anything about the the Valeyard except what I've read at tardis.wikia.org, so I could be totally wrong. BUT, ignoring that little weasleing out of a dead end corner, I thought the episode was great fun. ^-^ And I loved the fez. I loved it even better when Amy and River teamed up to take care of it, but I loved the fez, hahaha. And Centurian Rory.
Okay. That's out of my system for now. Time to get to work. *sigh*
