Well... The day got both better and worse yesterday, so I guess it averaged out. *smile* The frustration mostly died down, but I came to the conclusion that I may not have the justification for the other project which is not good. I need to do some more work, but I hate it when it looks like I've wasted the company's time.

Then, I went to my meeting, asked a few intelligent questions, tried to answer a question for someone that the presenter had already answered several times and got told to hush and let the presenter answer (>.<), and then tried to keep quiet the rest of the meeting. Started feeling sick in the middle of the meeting. A headache, nauseus, sinusy sort of thing. Meh.

The meeting let out at 4:30, and I basically gave up on work. Nothing I felt like working on for just an hour anyway, I felt just bad enough to not be able to concentrate but not bad enough to go home, and I was distracted with thoughts about what to do with my evening. I ate some chocolate banana pudding that I had in the office (home made, yum!) and that actually seemed to make me feel better. Maybe it was a low blood sugar thing?

Left work at 5:00 and went to Best Buy to ask their computer geeks about my problem. :/ They think it means that the game just won't run without a video card. They did suggest that maybe something got screwed up in the DirectX download, so I went home and re-downloaded that from Microsoft and installed it. It didn't help. Uninstalled and re-installed the game in the Admin account. Didn't help. Uninstalled and re-installed the game in my non-Admin account and downloaded an emulator that I found during lunch yesterday.

And that worked! I was able to roam around Mos Eisley for a little while! My nephews wouldn't like it... The game stutters and stops occasionally, but it always resumed and it works! *rejoices* I can play with it a bit until I decide whether or not I want to get a video card and if so which one. I think I will, and not just because of the game. If the graphics are using up processor capacity, I'd like to free that up. The processor usually runs about 60-70% loaded just in idle and I would prefer it be less than 50%. Not sure if a stand alone card would give me that much, but it might be worth trying, ne?

So, I played with getting the game started while I ate dinner. Which, by the way, did not get ruined. It turned out just about right! *smile* Thank You for small favors. So, I played with that, ate, and watched three episodes of Black Butler. *grimmace* I shouldn't have watched that last one, but I had to see them save Lizzy. I like Lizzy. They had to save her. So now, Ree, if you happen to have time to come in here and peak, I have finished through episode 12 and am waiting to start episode 13. Half way through! Have you seen episode 19 of Yume yet? I haven't seen an episode come out in two weeks... Wonder if the subbers are busy with mid-terms or something...

For now, however, I must drag myself away from the beautiful mirages of anime, computers, and fun and get to work. Mata ne!
