Day 3 - Almost Well

Jul 30, 2009 13:35

Hi all! Tired of hearing about my aches and pains yet? Hahaha...

Hurray! It is mostly gone! I'd say I'm back to about 98% now. Just one tooth bothering me. The gum was swollen and sore last night and this morning, but a salt water rinse seems to have helpled. I'll give it another rinse after lunch to be sure. Now, instead of going to the doctor if I'm not better by Saturday, I'll go to the dentist. *pauses and thinks* Except he's closed on Saturday, and I'm leaving to go out of town for work on Monday. Hmmm... If it's still acting up, I'll have to delay my departure and hit the dentist first I guess.

Skipped working out last night because I didn't want to take the chance of irritating it with high cardio. And she gives us high cardio even in the Body Conditioning class. Something about cardio helping to condition the body? *smiles and shrugs* She's right, but it's not good when you have a reason to not to want to breathe hard, hahaha.

It was a good thing I skipped, though, since I had to go to the grocery store for dinner ingredients and that took almost an hour. I found everything, though, and dinner was pretty much a success. The roasted caponata is okay... Not something I think I'll make often, but good for an experiment. Now I just gotta figure out what I'm having for dinner tonight. And since J is heading south, it's just for me and that's always difficult. Maybe leftovers...

Hmmm... Nothing else I can think to report. I have one annual doctor's appointment left for tomorrow and then I should be done for the year. I've been going crazy with doctor stuff this month. Annual physical, blood work, annual female physical, the new annual female x-rays, annual eye doctor appointment, my usual chiropractic appointment... Busy, busy month. Lots of money for the health care industry, though not as much as they think they need. *eyes goggle at the difference between the doctor's charge and what the insurance company has gotten them to agree to accept* No wonder no one with health insurance can't afford to go to the doctor. That's where the poor medical souls make up for their losses.

For instance, the blood lab was going to charge $9+ for "surgery" (first time I've heard poking a needle in my arm to draw blood being described as surgery), and $74+ per test (3 tests). The insurance company's negotiated rate was ~$6+ per test and refusal to pay the "surgery" charge as it was incidental to the rest. My total owed ended up being less than $20 bucks per the insurance company versus the $230+ that the lab billed. Yowz! Thank heavens for insurance? And that was just for standard, annual bloodwork. The stuff I reported about last week. I'd hate to imagine what special bloodwork costs, or the costs for those people who have to have it done quarterly or monthly!

Okay, guess I should think about getting back to work. Lunch is almost over.

Have a great day, minna!

PS - Ree! TRC raw is out and available. Maybe I'll read both tonight! ^-^
