My fridge is full of green stuff! Good, healthy green stuff, not the green stuff you get when you leave leftovers too long.
Tonight... is gumbo night.
I'm going a little non-traditional by actually using beef and pork instead of chicken/seafood and pork, but it'll still be tasty. The okra is defrosting, the peppers are fresh, and I've actually picked up gloves so that I can work with the peppers without feeling like my hands are on fire for the next week.
Ah, but the roux tonight... it will be a wonderful thing, a proper dark, cooked for 45 minute roux before any other food even touches it.
I need to buy a meat grinder, and replace my food processor.
I'm happy. :) My house is clean and I'm cooking again.
