Official Rax Pronouns 3.0 Release Notes

This document describes the proper procedures for referring to rax using third-person pronouns. It supersedes all previous such documentation.

The correct pronoun for referring to rax is now "they." This is true whether you are referring to them as rax , Rax, Rachel, Rach, Kitty-Fox, or any other approved appellation. The pronoun "she" from pronoun release ( Read more... )

What courtesy titles are approved for use with these pronoun selections?

Mx. is preferred! (pronounced "Mix") Ms. is... tolerable. "The" is also acceptable, as in:

The Rachel Dillon
100 E Street Name
Tucson, AZ 85716

Because that's awesome.

Ooooh, I hadn't thought of "The" before. I know Enne suggested "Rear Admiral" to a friend who wanted a title to use.

I am also fond of "that" - America's only native title of nobility.

As in, "oh, you're THAT Judith Butler!"

Before I got my new badge with my full name on it, when students asked what my first name was, I answered "Sir."

...none of them believed me.

This is not the only reason I have a doctorate, but it's one of the big beneficial side-effects thereof.

I have a doctorate and have thought that, but it's really annoying to be that asshole who always insists on being called Dr. Lastname.

It was useful during most of a year of working alongside my parent of the appropriate gender such that it resolved an otherwise real ambiguity, though.

So very very glad I am not doing that any more.
