Personality:

Unlike some other members of her species, Nepeta has a strikingly playful and friendly disposition, preferring only to hurt other living beings for specific, important reasons (aka, for food). While she has a fondness for roleplaying, she specifically prefers “non-dangerous” types of games, and not the kind of intense LARPing that has caused disputes and injuries amongst her friends. Instead, she writes in actions rather than actual speech while speaking with her friends, carrying out many of her conversations (even spoken ones) in roleplay. Though she is playful, she seems to take games quite seriously, often reprimanding certain people for not trying hard enough to get into character. She is passionate about her hobbies, and doesn't appreciate them being downplayed.

Nepeta is strongly associated with cats, appropriate considering she represents the zodiac sign Leo. She has a catlike appearance herself, sporting sharp teeth and parts of a blue anthropomorphic cosplay; her horns also resemble large cat ears. Her lusus, which is basically the trolls' equivalent of a guardian figure, is a cat with two mouths. Nepeta's affection for her lusus is apparent in her quirky method of typing; even when not roleplaying, she begins each of her messages with ":33 <", which is the standard ":3" cat-faces smiley with two mouths. She also replaces double Es in words with double threes (such as feel -> f33l).

Lastly, but likely the most important as it also carries over into spoken conversation, Nepeta's speech is perpetually littered with cat-related puns. She substitutes parts of her words, saying things like "purrfect" or "amewsed"; of course, the puns are much more apparent in written text, but it's likely that she places a strong emphasis on her substitutions while speaking aloud.

Nepeta is an extremely kind-hearted and responsible friend. She cares for the people who are close to her, and is one of the few members of her species who doesn't seem to enjoy pestering or teasing them, even if it's just for fun (the exception to this being Equius, her closest friend, which likely means she feels comfortable enough around him to poke fun at him). It has been stated that Nepeta realizes how much of a jerk Equius can be, but she still considers him a close friend and moirail, aware that he needs somebody to stick close to him and look out for him. She also appears to be romantically interested in Karkat, which could imply that she is able to look past the initial impression of people who act like jerks, and can appreciate them for their true character. It could also mean that she simply likes to help people calm down and feel happier; this is also apparent in her conversations with Terezi.

She frequently draws pictures of her friends and herself all over her walls, including comic strips depicting made-up adventures. The most prominent example of this is her shipping wall, which she uses to keep track of the relationships between her friends (including the many bizarre variations of "troll romance"). Nepeta seems to be very dedicated to her shipping wall, updating it immediately whenever she discovers a new romantic development, and even going as far as recoloring the entire wall if one of her friends changes their appearance.

While every member of her race appears to need some sense of independence in order to survive, Nepeta appears to be one of the only ones who has actual real-time combat experience, roleplaying not included. She survives by hunting wild beasts for sustenance, later using their pelts as clothing and their blood as paint. She does not believe in killing anything she is not going to eat; this shows that she has a strong sense of compassion, but is still willing to do what it takes to survive.

Aside from this, though, Nepeta seems to be a peaceful girl overall. She enjoys drinking tea and having heartfelt discussions about feelings, particularly when one of her friends is going through a rough spot. She is a reliable shoulder to lean on if you're in a bad mood, and she will even go out of her way to help somebody open up even if they won't try to help themselves.

Extra:
Character Abilities:
Nepeta owns a pair of Claw Gloves, which are basically normal gloves from which she can extend long blue claws that appear to be slightly magical in nature. Due to Splendor's nature, and the fact that the conditions for using her weapon only exist in her universe, Nepeta will likely be unable to utilize her weapon here. However, she is able to fight quite proficiently with them when they do work.

In battle, Nepeta is swift and agile; her fighting techniques seems to consist of moving quickly to confuse her opponent, and striking with her claws when she finds an opening. This is likely how she was able to survive on her own in the wilderness against obviously larger opponents.

If it can be considered an ability, also, Nepeta is pretty good at drawing!

Possessions:
Nepeta possesses what appears to be part of a typical fursuit, consisting of a cat-faced hood, boots, and a tail made out of the same blue material (presumably the hide of a wild animal). She wears these at all times, and will thus have them on her when appearing in Splendor.

Anything else: Not at all~
