why give them a single bird when you can give them a whole flock?

we took my cat mariska to the vet today for an emergency visit.

she had two seizures & afterward she was panting heavily & her heart was racing a hundred miles a minute.

before we left the house, we called FOUR places to see how much a visit was & if we would be able to make payments. i mean, we dont have money for food [literally], so there is no feasible way to pay for a vet visit. but i couldnt let something worse happen.

anyway, THREE of said four places said they didnt accept payments. one woman sounded offended at the thought of a payment plan.

you know, i honestly get why they might not want to allow someone to make payments. i can imagine how many people skip out on their bills.

but i always thought that the health of the animal took priority.

i guess not.

so now- i'm the offended one.

assmonkeys.

ahem. so the vet gave her 14 oral pills [2 pills a day for 7 days] that should reduce her fever. she was running 104.5, 3 points over whats normal for felines. he also gave her revolution, a parasiticide, so hopefully her fleas will get better.

so a big THANK YOU to refinery road veterinary clinic for being decent human beings.

i appreciate it immensely.
