finals and other such bullshit.
i'm home for winter break. yay. kinda. now i get to work! pfft.
UNH delcared a snow emergency and moved all friday finals to saturday. i was supposed to have two finals back to back on friday...
language acquisition 8-10am
phonetics and phonology 10:30-12:30
but my language acquistion prof decided to make the final a take-home and emailed it to us as an attachment rather than make us take it on saturday. pretty sweet. i have until monday night to email it back to her.
then phonetics and phonology... the prof made the final optional. after careful consideration i decided to take the final because i wasn't doing so great in the class and i felt if i didn't take the final i wouldn't be able to say i tried as hard as i could. well that was a fucking mistake cuz it kicked my ass! what a horrible fucking test that was. i hope i didn't fuck msyelf too hard...
that stray cat that's been hanging around my house for about a month has pretty much officially moved in. he likes to lay around the kitchen and eat various cold cuts. in fact, he eats nonstop. then he wanders around until he runs into marilyn who is none too pleased by his presence. he stops and looks and she hisses at him and glares for a few minutes and then flees upstairs. sometimes he follows her up and takes a piss in her litterbox while she watches from my bedroom doorway. we put a flea collar on him and i learned the hard way that i should wear an oven mitt if i try to brush him. (his teeth are very painful.)
i am almost done with my xmas shopping. i just need to get something for my dad. why are dads always SO hard to shop for???? my dad's a pretty boring guy! he likes to watch car races and certain select sporting events on tv but he's not the kind of guy who likes sports clothing or paraphernalia. i know he likes cars but i have no idea what he'd like in that department. all his tools that i ever see are old and decrepid looking. maybe a gift card to sears to buy some tools? but then my dad HATES shopping. especially at the mall. and i can only afford about $25-$30 gift card which would prolly only buy like one of two things. i really don't want to get him the usual book about war, but i can't think of anything else!
