Item one on my new agenda, even before eliminating non-organic produce, is to stop drinking/buying Coke and Coke products as well as other sodas. If I feel like I just have to have some caffeine, I'll have a cup of hot tea.
Before I moved in with
tredecimal, I was a (mostly vegan) vegetarian and I very rarely drank Coke or any other kind of soda. If I really wanted something fizzy, especially to go with food, which seems to be the main time I want a Coke, I would drink a Reed's ginger brew.
I also hardly ever ate anything fried unless I was feeling really depressed and wanted some french fries or mozzarella sticks.
I'm not blaming him, but that's how it is. Living with someone who eats crap and drinks Coke makes it a lot easier to fall into those patterns.
So for tomorrow, day one of Coke-free living: I've got some Pom and some Knudsen's Very Veggie in the fridge (not really raw, but will have to do for now due to lack of juicer), and I'll put the baby in the Snugli first thing when we wake up and walk down to the grocery store for a new filter for the water pitcher (or some bottled water if filters are unavailable/too expensive).
