dc
i'm currently in maryland, trying to sleep through an insane thunderstorm. seriously, i don't know that i've ever been in a thunderstorm like this before. but anyhoo...
went to dc today. saw all sorts of cool stuff at the smithsonian's natural history and american history museums. then we went to the memorials; saw washinton monument, lincoln memorial, and vietnam veterans memorial. at the vietnam one i did something for my mom. she had a fiance die there, and i got a paper and scratched his name onto it. i did this 10 years ago when i was here before, but i think she may have lost the old one. then we went to the white house, and ford's theatre. ford's theatre was closing when we got there so i didn't get to go up to the box where lincoln was shot. sucky.
last night we went into georgetown, found a bar, and got drunk. it was fun, but pretty uneventful.
tomorrow is new york. excited much? i can't sleep. our hotel is across the street from the waldorf-astoria. pretty cool. i've been obsessive and maped out how to get everywhere on the subway.
ok, off to bed.
