John Romero worked for Richard Garriot?

Well according to this, he did. And 2400 AD is listed on his page, too. In the late 80s, he was apparently involved in porting over 2400 AD from the AppleII to the C64, which he did with a homebrew interface cable between the two. For those of you who don't know, Romero was one of the founders of id (You know, the commander keen/wolfenstein 3d/doom/quake people), and Origin (now owned by EA) was founded by none other than Richard Garriot.

To top it all off, the music for that game is by Jereon Tel.
