Okay that sounded very lame but how and ever! ^^
Now I'm in 3rd year in college and I'm still surviving my course even if I have to drag myself kicking and screaming through it. Since I'm just finishing up 3rd year (i'm on work placement which means I don't get a summer break) we have to start thinking about what we want to do for our final year projects. I've already decided that if I can I want to do a cgi animated film for mine since we have a year to do it. It's going to take a lot of work but I'm hoping that I'll be able to pull it off especially since I want to get into Kent University in England to do my masters. Of course that means spending atleast a year working to make sure I can afford it. This year will probably turn into two since I can't save money! Next September it's time to get the gloves off and start some serious work. I have a digital audio exam to repeat in August but after that I need to start working very hard to achieve a first class honours! ^^
Next big deal is that a few months before my last post some of my friends and I started up our own Anime and Manga Society in the University of Limerick and spend all year working our asses off to make the society the best we could. We then tried to win our college award for the best new society (because we believed that with the amount of work we did we deserved it) but becuase this event was a done by student body vote of course a little niche group like us lost to the DJ Society. After us all being a bit dishearted and believing that maybe we didn't do as well our first year as we thought we did we continued on, trying to make the society even better by running more and more events for our members. We run three events a week and that doesn't include the extra events we may run. I think thats a pretty damn good amount of events! Anyway we continued to work away when I heard that the Board of Irish College Society awards were on. I thought that if we could go to that, just for the experience of being there more than anything, would be fantastic. So I asked one of the others (I'm the president btw) to go into the clubs and societies officer and see if we could go too. He said that he could because the DJ Society were too lazy to send a group. So up we went to Athlone for a night with paid accomedation in a 4 star hotel with a ball and dinner for free! But not before we had to write our nomination.
When we found out we could enter it was 3 hours until the nominations closed. I was in work at the time and I got the text from one of the guys and sat there and typed out our application on my own for 3 hours straight and got it in 5 minutes before the end. This was on friday. We were then told that we needed a portfolio of hard copies of everything we had done since we started the society with receipts and proof that we ran these events. I was working 2 8 hours shifts that weekend with 2 hours and a half maths grinds inbetween but I got a folder, sleeves and desperatly emailed everyone asking them to send me stuff. Then on the monday (it had to be up Tuesday) I spent 6 hours straight making the portfolio before giving it away to be sent to Athlone.
When we got to Athlone (after being almost an hour late because of a person from a a different societies presentation/lack of punctuality) we had to sign in the society straight away and then get the bare amount of food we could before myself, the vice president and the events officer had to run off to our 20 minute interview for the society, in which we had to discuss the society in detail. We were also the first society in our catagory to have to do our interview so in short...we were bricking it! We went in and the judges couldn't have been nicer. They seemed so impressed by our society and we ended up being out 5 minutes late because we just kept talking to them. After that we met the NUIG sceptics society outside the door and we were chatting to them for some time before their interview. After the interview we went back to my room and started a small amount of work on our presentation before heading out to the front of the hotel for photographs and fun times!
This is a photo that was taken of us posing infront of the flag we use:
After that it was time for the presentations in which we made friends with the tea society and the st vincent de paul girls! The presentation went well and was more just to get to know other societies then anything else. We were up again Journalism society for DCU and after their presentation we were almost positive that we were done for, although the guy who was giving their presentation was a complete arse!
After the presentations it was time to get ready for the ball. This was also the first time I got to see my boyfriend there although he had been there all day as a judge! After getting ready we headed down to the ballroom for the award ceremony. Unfortinatly because the rest of the guys were staying in another hotel with the other societies that came with us (music and Games) we didn't get a big group photo before the dinner because the music soc people were so drunk that they guys were almost an hour late for the ball. Anyway they got there just in time for very yummy food and free wine with dinner! 8D After dessert was finished and a few pictures were taken it was then time for the awards.
At the start we were given about 10 minutes to write an acceptence speech and the rest of the committee and I just joked around during this time, knowing that we wouldn't win. Well that was a mistake!! We ended up winning in our catagory, beating some amazing socs! I went up on stage first and just couldn't speak I was so shocked so I just blathered a bit, getting flustered and high pitched and then Jen, the events officer had to take over for me! XD Video is here:

Then we went to talk to the tea society and the other friends we made during out time there. All in all it was an amazing night. We're still not over the fact we won though! XD;;
Other then that I've mostly been working on Anime and Manga Society stuff (as it has kind of taken over my life) as well as motivating myself to lose weight so I can both cosplay better and hopefully be able to become a very good loli! ^^ I'm currently completely in love and obsessed with lolita fashion and am now currently trying to find ways to incorporate it into my life! <3 I'm hoping my aunt will be able to teach me how to use my sewing machine propperly this weekend so I can actually make my own clothes as well! It's been sitting there far to long! XD
I'm making a website for a company for my work placement at the moment. It's a boring job to say the least but atleast it pays well so I don't have to worry too much about money anymore (finger crossed anyway). We're looking for a new house to move into. I'm sick of sharing a single bed with by boyfriend! I need a double bed dammit!
...okay I'm done now! You're up to date on my life now!
TL:DR : Busy Raving has been busy
