The disappearances... These new arrivals... I feel as though there should be a pattern in all of this. I no longer think it a matter of willpower - and whatever else they were, neither Naruto nor Rosette were in short supply of that.

Or were they? I remember... just around the time that Lucius vanished, there were those masks... I felt the change in my personality. If they could work a change that drastic, if they can rip away memories and return them as easily as this... There's no way to tell what is and isn't reality anymore, is there?
...Yet however little sense Memento may make, there is even less sense in behaving as though my entire existence is an illusion. Whatever it is at its core, I know what it is I feel here and now.
