San Francisco on my mind...

My vacation to California was just what i needed. I spent the holiday season with my wonderful and beautiful family. It rained everyday but i loved it. THe rain is prettier in the west then in the east. The west is full of magic and you can taste it in the air. The mountains are majestic and the view simply takes your breath away. We drove all over San Francisco and Monterrey. I fell in love with San Francisco. Leaving was the hardest thing to do. I was heartbroken as my plane took off and headed east towards Virginia. I'de like to live there one day. Perhaps next year. WHo knows? I'l post more about my trip later. In the meantime, i'll continue to sigh and reminisce about it all...

On vacation i finished three books; "Breath, Eyes, Memory" (234 pages) by Edwidge Danticat and "The Curious Incident of hte dog in the night-time" (226 pages) by Mark Haddon, both were excellent reads and i particulary enjoyed The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time. Mark Haddon is a genius!! It took some time getting use to his style of writting but once i got the hang of it i couldn't put the book down.
I also reread "The Cather in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger and I still didn't like it. Im not sure exactly why. Everyone i know has always talked highly about this book and yet i hate it. It bores me to no end. Im not sure if my dislike is for his style of writting or for the main character. that kid just bugs the shit out of me! I started A Walk To Remember by Nicholas Sparks last night. So far so good. Before i left on vacation i finished The Da Vinci Code and sadly, i was kinda disappointed. I was expecting more. I loved the concept of the religious theory but the storyline was drab.

its been raining non stop for the past week. the rain is comforting. i think i'll have some tea now..
