Come Pray At The Altar Of The Goddess
I redid my altar tonight.
It was a completely unexpected thing, but I'm so happy with it now~ <3 It started with me buying flowers. I'd realized a few days ago that what my room (and, indeed, house) needed for me to actually feel like it was home was plant friends. I've always surrounded myself with green things and for the past year or so the only real green things I've had have been out of doors--we had an amazing garden last year, for example. But I haven't had any indoor plant friends~ Plants change the feel and energy of a room so much for me. Without them, the air and environment feels stale, still, uninviting. I can exist in it, but it never feels completely comfortable or welcoming.
The other day I got some bamboo and the air in my bedroom shifted. It was more...homey, I guess. It's hard to describe. It was just the tiniest, subtle difference, but it felt so good. I wanted to keep going with that feeling. So while I was waiting for my dinner to be ready, I bought some Tulips. Perhaps it's a bit early for them, but I don't care. They're beautiful and a much needed reminder of Spring and that warmer, brighter weather is just around the corner. (A very important thing for me as I've been feeling all to much like Winter is never ending and it's starting to really affect my mood. :/ I am not a cold weather fairy.)
Because I'm so very thrilled with how it came out, I wanted to show off pictures of my altar. I didn't do anything to the Odin portion of it. I want to redo it, but I'm not quite sure how yet. But the main portion got a make over. <3
The whole thing~
Without really meaning, the main portion wound up getting divided into a Freyja side (left) and a Brigid side (right). I didn't mean to do this. It was just something tha I would up noticing as I was rearranging things. In the end though I think it came out perfect. I work with both of them regularly, and Odin has His own "section". Why shouldn't my Goddesses~? I seperated my perfume oils by which Goddess I associate them with. The ones with no particular association are grouped together in the middle behind my fairy incense burner.
