I've had a decent day today. Been productive. Most of the day was spent at the day job, but during down time I got a bit of editing done. It really amazes me how easy it is for the word "was" to creep into a story! Even if you're trying to avoid it. I counted all of them before I started editing--117. When you consider that this story is just under 6,000 words long, that's a lot. So tonight's task is to weed them all out. Right now I have my manuscript resting on my Odin shrine for His blessings while I write this and watch a bit of Lord of the Rings. Gandalf always always always reminds me of Odin, and watching these movies and paying attention to the wizard generally gives me some insight into Odin that I hadn't previously had. (Besides, it's good background noise while I wait for Criminal Minds to come on, and is a comfort movie as well <3).
I always like the idea of turning daily tasks into small rituals. So I turned my dinner into a sacred meal. The only thing differently done as opposed to any other night was there was spiritual music playing and candles lit while I was cooking, and while I was eating. I wrote
my latest Odin Devoted post (which is also a Pagan Blog Project post!) while I ate as well. Sitting at the table, music playing and candle flames dancing as I wrote and ate made me daydream about how it would be with Angelo when we have our own place. We're both writers, and I've always loved the idea of writing together--sitting at the same table, facing each other as we both type away.
Getting a few things accomplished today has tremendously helped in eliminating the anxiety I was feeling. So. Very. Grateful.
Tomorrow is a Full Moon. I'll be asking Brigid for Her blessings on Rescued then. <3
