My Poor Baby :(
When I came home today I noticed Melodi's (see icon) tongue was swollen. I don't know how it got that way, but I do have theories. The most likely one (in my opinion) is that she bit her tongue somehow. Given that it's only the tip of her tongue that's swollen this would make sense~ My other theory is that she had an allergic reaction to a can of Fancy Feast she had last night. She usually eats dry food, but I sometimes give her canned food as a "treat" :P
I called a vet and they said to keep an eye on her breathing and such. That seems to be fine. Mel's a little cranky from not feeling "normal" but otherwise she seems to be okay. She wants to eat and drink, and she tries to, but it's hard for her to with a swollen tongue. I don't exactly have money for an emergency vet visit, but if the swelling hasn't at least gone down tomorrow I'll have to do something.
In the meantime any and all good thoughts, prayers, and/or positive energy would be much appreciated! <3
