countless people whinging about the amendments to the marriage act so it clearly states "its a union between man and woman and the exclusion of all others".
1. We start recongising marriages from overseas this mean we start recognising poligamy and under age marriages, in some countries this is allowed. Stupid we don't need that.
2. People flipping off at the law because they can't do what they want in this country and getting married in a another country allows it. If u don't like this country don't live here, laws are there for a reason.
3. No government coming into an election is going to put up the law for gay marriages as an election promise due to the fact it could backfire on them. If we had a referendem on gay marriage u would have no chance of it passing because there is still plenty of people who hate gays, don't like the idea the term of marriage being used on gay marriages and still plenty of old people out there who just don't get what gay means.
4. If u pay attention to other laws that have been made or revised that are pro gay marriages, u will most like find that the laws are leading the way for the term "civil union" will be used for gay marriages in the next 2-5 years.
