My First Ever Cosplay Photoshoot (Taken by and of Me)
So I'm planning on going to FanimeCon in San Jose in late May this year. Months ago (back before Christmas break) I went on this quest to decide who I wanted to cosplay as. My only criterion was that I not need to wear a wig or seriously cut my hair. So that limited me to blond(e) characters with mid-length hair. Originally I was planning on being Edward Elric from FullMetal Alchemist, but I changed my mind. (Not that there's anything wrong with Ed-o. You might recall from my last post that I would totally sleep with Ed.) See, I found a character who also has my same eye color.
So I've decided on Deidara from Naruto, who I think is totally awesome.
So I convinced my parents to get me a costume for my 19th birthday. They got me full costume: cloak, shoes, a shuriken, a kunai, and a hitai-ate. The only problem is, the costume is meant to be for Itachi (who's also damn cool), so the headband is for Konoha. No big, I'm getting the right one, but just pretend that the headband I'm wearing is for Deidara's ex-village instead of Itachi's, ne? (Un.)
Lols. My friend and I were joking that I could hang the headband from my belt or something and joke that I (as Deidara) had gotten sick of waiting for Sasuke to finally kill Itachi in Shippuuden (Seriously, ANOTHER filler?!), and I just went ahead and did it myself. (Ignore that fact that Itachi totally kicked Deidara's ass last time, ne?)
So in the end, I went on a total ego-trip and took a bunch of pix of myself in a preliminary cosplay, without any makeup and with the wrong hitai-ate. Lols. Just think of this as "What if Deidara took a bunch of MySpace pix of himself?" (Although, I'm a girl.)
By the way, SPOILER ALERT if you are only watching the anime and not reading the manga. So proceed with caution!
Deidara is always sticking his tongue out in pictures, un. I can't be the only one who noticed.

Here's a little something to commemorate the fact that I (Deidara) beat the great Kazekage! Note the smug curling of the upper lip.
And here's a lulz-y pic of absolute utter, suicidal emo-ness that the real Deidara would never have. Yeah, he killed himself in the fight with Sasuke, but that was out of anger and a last-ditch effort at winning, not depression. (The kunai is plastic, btw.)
And I had more, but for some reason my computer didn't want to upload them from my camera. Screwy little thing! And now this post's preview is weird, too. So if it comes out with a whole bunch of space between the pix, I have no idea what to do about it, un!
Edit [4/13/09]: I got tired of seeing all those annoying effing spaces between the pix, to I changed the format so it's a picture followed by the description. I still dunno why it didn't work, since using the left-justify deal-y had worked previously. Oh, well.
