(copy pasta for the most part from Zen site because I'm lazy)
So apparently my video card is dying and I need a new one. I know virtually nothing about computer hardware other than my system was pretty top of the line... 4 years ago :\
My current video card is an ATI Radeon 9800 pro and I've been very satisfied with it for the last 4 years. I know it's nowhere near top of the line anymore but it has served me well. I'm not looking to spend very much, to be honest, I'd like to keep it under 150 bucks if at all possible, though if it's realllly worth it I'd consider up to 200. I'm not planning on doing any really heavy gaming so I probably don't need the latest and greatest with multiple gigs of RAM just in the card. I'm looking for something thats dependable with pretty decent performance and something that won't cause me a lot of problems down the road. I don't want to be replacing the video card again next year. I also have to consider that my computer is a Dell, so I don't know if that's gonna cause any compatibility issues, and if it is where would I go to find out which cards are compatible with my system? Also, would a newer card be pulling more power, meaning I need to upgrade my power supply? I'm pretty ignorant, like I said so any help is appreciated. What should I look for and what should I look out for D:
What suggestions do you guys have?
