Loot update
Well, I didn't end up getting that last update done with all the nice stuff I've seen drop since coming back so I've got all that plus more to do now. I've also got a whole updates worth of normal stuff too so in order to avoid making a ginormous entry I'm splitting this entry up into seperate updates. This entry will be loot based so if you don't care about any of the nice stuff I've seen drop or gotten myself since coming back to the game full time (or the fights we went through to get those drops) then I suggest skipping this entry. On to the drops!
Well, I guess a good place to start is dynamis. As some of you know I have an absolutely horrid record for Dynamis drops, I played full time with Zen for about 8 months before leaving because of my job and in the time I got 1 piece of BLM AF2, and its not like it dropped and I was outlotted, it just wouldn't drop when I was there. If I were to miss a run though it would rain from the heavens and be freelotted. Along the way, as I levelled more jobs in the limited time I had I ended up picking up a few pieces of BST AF2 and even a piece of RDM AF2 before coming back full time. Since coming back though I've gotten some more, and finally added to my BLM drops!
The 2 BST drops put me at 5/5 AF2 for BST, hooray!
I also saw these 2 drop, so at least I know they exist and give me hope that one day they might drop for me (yea right ._.)
We also have taken down Dynamis Lord a few times with SAGA and he's been putting out. Out of the 4 times we've killed him (since I've been back) we've gotten 2 Shadow Mantles and 1 Shadow Ring, not too shabby. One run we ended up getting BLM, RDM, WAR, PLD, PLD, SMN and something else, probably BST. Was a SAGA run though so EC ended up with the BLM and RDM, but the 2 PLD went to Zen so that was nice.
Right around the time I first came back I was hunting Xolotl pretty hardcore, every night. This NM can be realllly frustrating when it's popping in the early morning and you're having to try and kill with less than a party. Add to that the stiff competition we faced and their underhanded tactics and it made for a camping experience I'd like to forget. I've been mpk'd there several times, lost thousands of xp from us just dying on our own and even on top of that, the drop rate for that stupid knife sucks (poor Gualdin ;;).
Sometimes people tried to (and successfully) stole it from us so we tried to get revenge and steal it back.
And the really stupid thing is people resorted to these tactics for drops like this:
We did get lucky and got the kote to drop once, and I got them :D
Haven't really been back recently since Gualdin hasn't been playing, and I honestly can't say that I mind. That whole camping experience sucked. If he comes back though we'll be right back out there again.
Another piece of equipment I've been wanting for awhile is the Voyager Sallet. Luckily some other folks in Zen wanted it and got the TOD so for a few days we ended up having them to ourselves, though sometimes a solo BLM would show up and try to bio kill them to death one by one. I had killed them several times before but had never seen a Sallet drop. It turns out, not only are the Carmine Dobsonflies a good source of low level equipment (hi2u Jaeger Ring) but they're also a good source of xp/merit points.
I did end up getting my Sallet so that was nice, one time we even had 3 in the same pool which was pretty awesome.
Yet another piece of equipment I've had my eye on for quite some time is the RSE sachet. The taru one is +2 INT which is really nice for a level 30 ammo slot since it would not only replace my Phantom Talthum but I'd also be able to use it in level capped areas. Now, on paper this NM doesn't really seem so bad. You can only pop it during your RSE week, you know for that RSE quest from the gob in Jeuno. And it can only be popped in the area your RSE is in for that week. So far, it doesn't really sound bad. And all you have to do to pop it is be the correct gender and race and find the ??? in the correct zone and click on it. And the NM isnt even overly hard for a level 75 character... 2 AM2's or 3 Tier 4 nukes killed it for me rather easily each time. But, the problems start coming in when you start looking at the repop timer on the ??? and how far apart all the 4 spawns are from each other. Then take into account if you have competition and on top of that it's a HORRIBLE drop rate. So yea, I hunted it on and off for about 2 months before I gave up. One day I decided I was going to get it though so I headed down to Shakrami maze and stayed there until I did. I ended up something retarded like 1/27 on the drop but I did finally get it.
As you can tell from the pic, I was pretty happy when it finally dropped.
Just a few more here I think.... I finally ended up getting a Joyeuse, which is another piece of equipment I never thought I'd get. Between the spawn window being retarded and the need for help coupled with competition, yea I gave up on it a long time ago. But one day Liirian told me the window was up and I should go get the TOD so I headed down to SSG and watched DBS kill placeholders for awhile. At some point about half of their alliance warped out and the rest stayed and continued to kill placeholders. I figured that now I might actually have a chance to claim so A few people came down to help and without killing a single placeholder we managed to claim and kill Chary. Of course DBS was mad but you know, that's just the way it is sometimes. It sucks but meh, it's happened to me enough times I don't feel bad.
We also did another JoL recently and at least this time it dropped something other than just the weapon. Still no earrings though ._.;
Got my first piece of Crimson awhile back too, now if I could just get the legs I'd be happy :)
Also, after doing soooooo many ENM's and getting complete crap for drops, we finally did one that put out.
Also, since the Ulli fix we've been able to do some Byakko's which have resulted in several haidates!
Annnd I think that's it. We did end up getting some other stuff I didn't take pictures of. Tiamat dropped some gaiters but I wasn't in the main ally for that, Sea finally put out a RDM cape for us but I lost the lot (Grats Morning) and other than that Sea has been pretty meh for us. I did end up getting a Temperance Axe for my BST which is nice but it's 100% drop anyways so meh. Kirin put out some fast pants which Mischa got, but I forgot to screenshot those as well. Can't really think of much else, doing a Dynamis-Xarc run today so hopefully it will put out some nice stuff, though I am going so more than likely we'll get junk XD
edit: Dynamis-Xarc did actually drop a BLM hat, but of course I had gotten kicked from the game and couldn't log back in so it went to someone else -______-
