I was going to say that I am going to close my IE window and edit the latter half of chapter 9. Then when done, I'd wander back to LJ, check my f-list, look at the writing-related blogs and then try to switch to writing pages for the new story. Then I somehow was reminded that there is one small piece of info I wanted to try and find (in order to avoid what would probably be a faux pas). So I will do that first, and then I will edit, and then I will do my ever-longer trek through the internet, and -then- work on new pages.
So let's see where we get at the end of the day and hopefully can edit this post that relays a healthy dose of progress.
edit: (Ooo, LJ looks different. But I like it.)
Oh, and have you noticed the change in color scheme again? I got bored with the red and was drawn to the blue. I like it. Actually it was mostly due to the shade of blue used for active, not visited links that was painful against the black, then I just ended up changing a bunch of the colors. Maybe one day I will include a background picture again. I got a book on butterflies and moths at the last book sale, so maybe one day I will get a scanner and see how some of those pictures turn out.
Anyhoodles, I have edited the latter portion of chapter 9 (much bring the first part tonight and force my sister to read it since she didn't come last week), and am currently writing new pages for, you guessed it, SoulHeart. I'm still writing, but I'm at about 1,011 words right now. It helps that I know where this chapter is going and I think I even planned out at least he beginning of chapter 3.
Doing the edits on hard copy first (or starting the edits, as the last few pages of chapter 9 I did solely by eyeballing it on the computer) really seems to help. It still took a while, but it was easier to stay focused. The long stint of internet trawling did not actually help. While I enjoy the blogs and what-have-you, I finally had to say, 'You're stalling, quit it, open the damn file, now maximize that screen' (as I opened the story at some point, then minimized the screeen without typing a word). But yeah, go progress. Yay.
Come on people, write. You know you want to. All the cool kids are doing it.
Actually, I think I want to go take a shower now before people start coming home and I have to fight for the bathroom. But that means I might not get anymore, or not much more, writing done. Still though, considering the abysmal progress I've been making for weeks, the massive editing (more than I would have done if not scribbled on a hard copy first) coupled with over 1,000 words of new stuff, is pretty darn good.
So go me.
edit 2: Um, yeah, so I got a little more done, capping today's writing-writing (as opposed to edit-writing) at 1,152. Not the best I've done, far from it, but not shabby for the way I've been going lately. Context. You gotta love context.
Happy Writing, people.
