yesterday a woman bought a ZINE and then she asked me for a hug too
Category: Writing and Poetry
at 4pm I stand at the Degraves st subway entrance
next to the Belgain Waffle Shoppe
half an hour later i head down n stand at the foot of the stairs.
how's this, today i sold a ZINE to a bloke who is a publisher.
a guy in his 50's dressed smartly in a suit and you wouldnt know it,
the guy has been squatting the past 3 years!
fucking mad isnt it... there are all these houses that cant be sold
and there are lots of people becoming homeless through these times..
i spoke with another woman today as i was selling ZINES in the subway.
she was keen to get one having seen a doco recently about them.
she was saying that selling ZINES was effective for a democracy.
i agreed with her recalling a book i had read about the trade union movement and the plight of the coal minors.
pictures drawn by artists of the coal minors conditions got into parliament aswell as the newspapers so informing people of these truths that lead to significant changes in parliament WHY we have a democracy in western society this day.
yeah *basks in a warm fuzzy glow*
yesterday a woman bought a ZINE and then she asked me for a hug too.
i said "why of cause!"
being an artist, it's spiritual work too
she said she was having a bad day and felt like a hug and a cry.
we hugged, she cried, i shared some tears then told her i'll be here tomorrow with free smiles.
i left a little earlier today, ran out of ZINES
i hope i didnt miss her
yeah doing better than i thought i would,
have to photocopy and staple more copies each week.
a guy bought a ZINE today a follow up from last week's issue.
he said it wasnt an easy read none the less he was interested eh
i said i like to leave people the detective work, it's a kind of treasure hunt
he said he leaves the ZINE on the train for others to read...
i said "you beaut mate!"
