And so is Allison!
Today (after having a bit of a lie in, and recieving a lovely parcel of Tea from my
perfumedwaters tea and hot beverage swap) Allison and I spent the day turning the sloes from last weekend, and the Damsons from this weekend into Jam and Sloe and Damson Gin. So, two big jars, one of sloe gin, and one of Damson gin are gently settling in the cupboard, four jars of Damson Jam are with them, and some rather flat and peculiar looking scones (not enough baking powder, but they taste OK are cooling on the cake rack ready to turn into cream teas.
The Damson Jam looks very pretty in its jars, I might submit some to the Flower and produce show at the Lordship Rec Festival next week! Though Allison really made that while I was out at the supermarket getting ingredients for the scones, so I may have to enter it in her name!
Finally I used the second to last small Kilner Jar to make a body scrub out of some demerera sugar, oils and honey, plus some bpal, because you can never have too much sugar scrub. Unfortunately I could not find my ground almonds, so I couldn't make face scrub as well. Bother!
Now it is dinner time, so cream teas may have to be tomorrow.
As will the making of chutney out of the pears and the funny little green plums. With the addition of ginger, spices and Port, I'm feeling!
Still, a peculiarly satisfying day!
