And the rundown...
Turkey and stuffing - I have these puppies damn near perfected by now.
Cranberries - These were iffy. They turned out good, but I think I left something out from last year. I think it was the vanilla. *ponders*
Gravy - FAIL. With the new way I do the turkey, it doesn't leave much behind for making gravy. The wine doesn't cook down enough and the turkey doesn't "shed" enough good stuff for flavoring. I'll need to explore new gravy recipes.Maybe for X-Mas.
That said, I had a great afternoon with Nic and her family who were gracious enough to adopt me this year. So good food, good company, good day.
And since everyone else is doing it... this is what I'm thankful for.
I'm thankful for my friends who are there for me when I need them. Online, offline, and everything in-between. Even those on my f'list that I haven't tagged lately, if I haven't defriended you by now, you have something I value and I'm thankful for that.
I'm thankful that I work at a company where my manager takes an interest in my career-development and helped move me into a better position... even though I hadn't really been looking and completely hadn't expected it.
I'm thankful for my family. Even though I don't see them or speak to them as often as I should, I love them and miss them. (But I'm still kinda thankful that they live out-of-state.)
